How did these students reach numbers that companies wish for?

Our Program was provided to 8 middle schoolers over June 17th to June 28th in the Charles River YMCA. Over the course of just 2 weeks, two teams of 4 students had these metrics.

Week 1

Skillset Building

Students identified target customer groups, conducted secondary research, and validated their assumptions through customer interviews, leading to final product designs, pricing, and descriptions. They concluded the week by launching their products, developing comprehensive marketing plans, and setting goals for key metrics to achieve by the following Monday.

Week 2

Learn by Failure

Students analyzed their performance metrics, identified shortcomings in sales, and responded with increased engagement and innovative problem-solving, embodying the concept of learning by failure. They delved into analytics to refine their marketing strategies, deepened their understanding of finances, and explored the topic of raising money, culminating in final presentations where they pitched their products and future plans to their parents, who acted as potential investors.

Future

After the Program

We saw their engagement and efficiency grow tremendously as the program continued. One of the best things about our program is that their products stay on our marketplace even after the program ends for as long as they are engaged and making sales. They can see their live product analytics on our website. Students are working towards more sales and even more products. Some students are starting new businesses and using the strategies they learned in the program. This is what DesignMy Education is all about. This was our first pilot. We can’t wait for what is to come.
